Nailed It didn’t start with a perfect plan. It started with a conversation at my kitchen table.

At the time, I was working in the carpenters’ union, mostly out of Cleveland, Ohio. I was constantly traveling, rarely home, and when I was, I was too tired to spend real time with my kids. My wife, who lives with Cystic Fibrosis, faces every day with a smile — most days — but her condition means frequent doctor’s appointments where my presence is needed. Asking for time off every week in a traditional union job just wasn’t working, and the strain was growing.

One night, I was complaining to her about money, time, and the toxic work culture I was dealing with. She listened for a while and finally said the words that changed everything:

“Why don’t you open your own business?”

That was the moment Nailed It was born.

We started with very few tools, a lot of grit, and the determination to do things well, no cutting corners, no treating clients like just another job, and no sacrificing family for work. Little by little, job by job, we built a reputation for showing up, delivering quality, and standing by our word.
